He was named by Businessweek in 2006 as one of the youngest 99 public company CEOs in the United States. Dr. Chin earned an M.D. from Harvard and the equivalent of a J.D. from Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.Dr. Lee is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh. He is also Core Faculty in the Section for Decision Sciences and Clinical Systems Modeling, the Center for Research in Health Care, and the RAND-University of Pittsburgh Health Institute. He is a Co-Investigator for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Modeling of Infectious Diseases Agent Study (MIDAS) research and informatics network. His previous positions include serving as Senior Manager at Quintiles Transnational, working in biotechnology equity research at Montgomery Securities, and co-founding Integrigen, a biotechnology company. His consulting experience includes a large variety of clients, ranging from large and small pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.Dr. Lee has authored three books, as well as numerous research publications, review articles, and book chapters. Dr. Lee received his B.A. from Harvard University, M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Perfect for students and industry persons alike, I highly recommend this book if you need to gain a thorough understanding of clinical trials research, from the basics of definition through comprehensive clinical trial analysis.

Best book I've seen to clearly distinguish terminology that is often mixed, as an instance, endpoints (outcome measures) and variables.......they are not one and the same! Must have in my library.

This is a really well written, comprehensive book. It covers just about anything you'd want to know about clinical studies. It will teach you a lot even if you've been doing clinical research for a while, it's very sophisticated. But not too many equations, although it has a few. You will probably find it very accessible even if you're new to clinical research.

I read this book because I was impressed by another book, Global Clinical Trials, which was edited by one of the authors.This is a pretty nice book that does a great job of covering a very wide range of fundamental topics that anyone doing clinical trials ought to know. It would have been great to have had this book when I started in industry.

This is a must for any parent starting a child in the Suzuki method. Excellent explanations for parents who may have learned by traditional methods when they were children. Dr. Suzuki's approach is different. His approach is that a child can learn to play a musical instrument like the child learns to speak the native language: by repetition, encouragement from the parent with the parent being the "home teacher" and doing what the teacher has done in lessons. Therefore, the child begins by learning the music by rote memorization in the first book ....I call it "copy cat" and we make a game of that learning. Memory is developed and serves the child well as he/she ages in school and into the adult world. Hand position, sound production are also developed. This book prepares the parent to expect to wait to learn to read notes/rhythms/ etc. as in traditional methods until later in the lessons. Reading comes, but it is delayed until the basic touches, memory, etc. are developed.

has lots of good ideas, not always practical to apply in the real world. Author repeated himself a lot in the last 1/4 of the book. overall pretty good to read once and get some more views on parenting that you may not completely agree with.

This book is similar in message to Suzuki's earlier book, "Nurtured by love". Suzuki-humanist and philosopher is more evident here than in that other book. Praise from the parent, developing child's concentration and setting fun tasks that can be accomplished are some of advises on rearing children. Suzuki strongly believes that the real education is at home and therefore advocates for parents' self-reflecting: you reap what you saw, therefore you should strive to be a fine person yourself to raise fine children.As in "Nurtured by love", some of the life philosophy sounds a bit out of place: "act quickly on what you think", while an excellent advice, should have been tied in with the rest of the book. The same goes for other maxims, such as "do not cheat yourself". Both "Nurtured by Love" and "Ability Development" suffer from the lack of directed studies and critical analysis of much that Suzuki postulates. Intuitively though, his theories sound very appealing, while the great optimism and love for children shine through the imperfections of the books.The book reads like a somewhat watered-down version of "Nurtured by Love", which I would recommend instead of this one.

The book is good, however, as I read the pages fall out! This shouldn't happen to a new book, and it is then just frustrating to read. I wouldn't recommend buying this book unless having the book fall apart as you read doesn't bother you.

I always thought "Suzuki Method" was merely for music students. This is a fantastic parenting book. I am sure I will read it over and over as my children grow. The anecdotal voice of the book makes it a breeze to get through, and a pleasure. The only book I think even more highly of is "Nurtured by Love", the second book I read by Suzuki. The information is so basic and obvious, yet completely transcendental. He is a beautiful, clear writer, and has amassed a huge following for a reason. Beautiful person, beautiful books.

A bit out of date but because it hasn't been updated or re-researched for several years, despite the (re?)publication date of 2012.Examples include:- 'Connelly's Camp' in Naivasha is infact Camp Carnelly's- Wildebeest Eco Camp in Nairobi is no longer in Malindi but now in Karen- Samburu Trails and Trekking in Maralal hasn't been in operation since 2007.It has the basics, gives a reasonable overview and it will get you around Kenya. But for a country as well travelled as Kenya, the sloppiness was at an unacceptable standard for LP.

I do not recommend this book unless you have no clue about APA. If, you are somewhat familiar with using APA style in your research papers, do not bother to purchase it. You can glean the same information from the actual 5th ed. of the APA manual. Check with your reference librarian at you college or university. They may be able to provide you with handouts that may actually be more useful. Therefore, I did not find this book user friendly.

This book has been a tremendous help in both my educational endeavors and my careers. It has helped with diagnosis of patients. It is full of information for the counseling field.

Good reference as far as textbooks go. With the advent of sophisticated computer edits, this volume is not as practical. Also, all the styles referenced can be found on the internet. I would only use this volume if I did not have use of a computer or the internet.

This book was of no use to me. It is difficult to follow, it does not provide an easy way to figure out what do you need to do for all the sections required in an APA style paper. And then if you had the time to do what this book say you first would have do a "test" on what you know. And then "attempt" to use this book to craft your own paper is another challenge. Maybe this books needs another book to explain its use. I found that it is easier to use the APA manual itself.I would not buy this book if I had another chance.

I purchased this workbook for my graduate students. It has helped most of them become familiar with what they need to know about APA, and exposed them to aspects of APA they would not normally care about. They all say it is a lifesaver.

If you need to write APA style papers this is the guide for you. Includes anything and everything you cow;d possibly need to produce APA styled writing.

I liked this. It was not as big as I would have liked, or expected but it was a nice sticker book. Bought it for a six year old and he loved it

I must have overlooked the amount of pages in this book. I foolishly assumed this was a sticker book like the rest of them, about 1/2" thick. No. It's got two pages of stickers. That's it. I would never have paid $6 for that. Ah well. Live and learn. Hopefully others will be able to learn from my mistake.

Sticker goodness in officially licensed merchandise from Star Wars- you gotta love it. Especially appreciate the part where if you are very careful you can peel off the sticker and put it on a smidge closer to where you intended for it to land. Bright colors in the stickers themselves, and a nice variety of representations of the basics of the series.The only improvement would be: more stickers (its just a bit short, but I knew that going in,) and a scene where you could pick and choose what sticker goes where. This booklet has a (single) place for everything, and something more open ended wold have been better. Still, it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed putting on the stickers of our long loved characters.

I understand that this was my bad for not reading the description better, but I bought this because it was on sale for $6 or something like that. I actually ordered two. My boys have had sticker books like this before and loved them, however the ones they've gotten before are like 50 pages. This one contained like 3 pages of stickers. I feel like I could buy something like this at the dollar store. I was very disappointed.

I finally have a way to help teach my niece and nephew all the characters and ships, etc! I don't always remember when we read the Little Golden Books, this is a nice reference.

Stickers are a little hard to get out of the books. Some are in very close to the binding and with the angles of the stickers, it's easy to tear them. Probably best to go to the store and check out in person since this isn't the only case where they've been like this.

Got this for my g/f's 5 year old nephew. He loves star wars and he loves stickers. We had fun peeling the stickers off and putting them where they belonged but it seemed pretty cheap. Quite a few of them were not perforated properly which led to them tearing. He's 5 so he really didn't care but for the cost you'd expect it to be a bit better done. Guess you're more paying for the brand and less for the quality.

Gift for grandson who loves stickers and Star Wars. He loved the book!

These sticker books are the best! They are great for long car rides, restaurants, quiet time, etc. There are tons of stickers, blank scenes, and lots of information about the characters. I highly recommend as a gift or for travel!
